I cant even begin to describe how agonized and hurt I am right now. Shortly after 5 PM yesterday, my sister called my mom in hysterics: her boyfriend is dead. I still cant really process all thats going on - my minds in a blur.

It happened while he was diving, somehow his rebreather malfunctioned and now he's gone. My mom has already flown down to be with her and 2 of my sisters are heading down later today. Im stuck petsitting for a neighbor and cant go....

.......You ever feel like the whole world is moving in overdrive and youre standing still watching everyone else go by? Thats how I feel right now...I just dont understand how such a good and kind person like him has this happen to him.

He and my sister were going to get engaged, get married - now thats all gone....I feel like a part of my soul has died inside: wasnt this just the guy having crabs with us at our family reunion and over for Christmas last year, celebrating the holidays and playing around with us?

I just dont get it....and I cant even begin to imagine what my sister is going through right now....RIP Dewey Smith. We love you buddy
